FEEL RECORDS is devoted to celebrating the richness of “Analog Time” —a way of experiencing music through records and live performances that stands apart from the rush of speed and efficiency in everyday life. To share this experience more widely, we have launched a new project: TRAVELING FEEL RECORDS.
The debut of TRAVELING FEEL RECORDS was hosted at SORC, a beloved second-hand record store in Nagoya and one of our frequent partners. For the event, we brought a selection of popular JICO record needles and invited participants to discover for themselves the subtle yet striking differences in sound they create.
Despite the sweltering summer heat, a wide range of record enthusiasts gathered—among them SORC regulars and even a junior high school student—making the event a genuine meeting of generations. While SORC’s reputation naturally drew many rock fans, the excitement in the room extended far beyond any single genre.
Guests requested various combinations of needles and records, listening intently to the subtle yet striking differences each stylus revealed. Reactions included:
“Just by changing the needle, it felt like an entirely different source.”
“I realized how much joy a record needle can bring to music.”
“It was a valuable experience I never get to have.”
Others expressed a desire to dive deeper:
“I’d like to own multiple needles and switch depending on the music.”
“I want to learn more about which needles pair best with certain genres.”
The energy in the room and the collective curiosity of the participants highlighted the significance of the event. Although this was our first attempt at hosting a traveling session, the strong turnout—made possible through SORC’s support—went well beyond expectations. We extend our gratitude to SORC and to all who attended.
